After six years within the same company and most recently launching a national digital news platform, I’m thrilled to be making a career pivot to keep building things as a Project Manager at 10up!
10up is a world-class digital agency with clients like Politico, FiveThirtyEight, BBC America, TIME, ESPN, Google, and even the latest WhiteHouse.gov for President Biden.
In my professional experiences, I’ve found launching projects and problem-solving are what I enjoy the most. At the same time, I came to realize that journalism is a very mentally draining career. I needed a change and fell into project management by accident, but I couldn’t be more excited to take on this new adventure!
I’ll be staying in Chicago. 10up is a distributed company with a global team. I start on Monday and already feel so welcomed!
Finally, I have to say it was an honor to work at WGN and launch NewsNation. We’ve had some very turbulent waters in recent months. I love my colleagues and wish nothing but the best. They’re working hard to keep the mission of unbiased cable news a reality.
While walking out of a newsroom is bittersweet, I can say that deleting all the news apps off my phone, turning off Dataminr and Twitter alerts, and unplugging from the information overload is already feeling very blissful. I may take a break from social media, too, for a little bit.
